Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 5, 2026
Courtira is operated by Cristian Ferrier. This Privacy Policy explains how Courtira handles information when you use the Courtira mobile application. By using Courtira, you agree to the practices described below. This policy applies to the Courtira app and not to third-party services with their own privacy policies. Courtira is not directed to children under 13. Courtira does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Information Courtira collects
We collect information needed to provide the app's account, tournament, and community features:
- Account and profile information: email address, display name, username, and any optional profile details you provide, such as country, biography, avatar, or profile image. If you sign in with Google, we receive the account information that Google makes available for sign-in.
- Content you create or share: tournaments, scores, schedules, participating players, communities, memberships, join requests, announcements, messages, and optional venue, address, description, sponsor, and image information.
- Notifications: an Expo push-notification token, device platform, and your notification preferences if you enable notifications.
- Feedback: the feedback message and category you submit, your optional reply-to email address, and limited context included with the feedback request, such as app version, device platform, and current app screen.
- Billing and subscription information: when you start or manage a paid subscription, we receive and store billing records needed to provide the subscription, such as your selected plan, billing interval, subscription status, trial eligibility and dates, current billing-period end date, and purchase, customer, subscription, or transaction identifiers. Web payments are processed by Stripe. Native iOS and Android purchases are processed by Apple and Google Play, with RevenueCat used to verify and synchronize subscription access with your Courtira account. Courtira does not store full payment-card numbers.
- Crash and technical diagnostics: Sentry receives crash reports, error messages, app and device version information, and limited technical context to help us diagnose failures and maintain reliability. Courtira removes the Sentry user identity and HTTP request fields before sending error events, disables default collection of personal information, and does not use these reports for advertising tracking.
- Trial-abuse prevention: for free-trial eligibility, we may retain a payment-method fingerprint supplied by Stripe. This is an identifier associated with the payment method, not the card number or other full payment-card details.
How Courtira uses information
- To create and secure accounts, save and sync your tournaments and preferences, and provide community features.
- To display the community and tournament content you choose to share with authorized community members.
- To send push notifications and scheduled reminders when you enable them.
- To process subscriptions, determine trial eligibility, manage plan changes and cancellations, provide billing support, prevent fraudulent or abusive use of trials, and maintain billing records.
- To respond to feedback, maintain the app, prevent abuse, and protect the security and integrity of Courtira.
How information is shared
We share information only as needed to operate Courtira:
- Supabase provides authentication, database, server functions, and media storage for Courtira.
- Expo processes push-notification delivery when notifications are enabled.
- Resend delivers feedback messages submitted through the in-app Contact & feedback feature.
- Vercel Web Analytics measures visits and page views on our marketing website to help us understand how visitors use it. It does not use tracking cookies. We remove query strings, URL fragments, and shared tournament or community identifiers before sending page URLs. This integration does not track activity inside the browser app.
- Stripe provides payment processing, subscription checkout, and the customer billing portal. Stripe processes payment information you enter during checkout under Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Apple and Google Play process native in-app subscription purchases and manage store billing. RevenueCat verifies store purchases, supports restoration, and synchronizes subscription entitlements using your Courtira account identifier and purchase information.
- Sentry processes crash and technical diagnostic reports so we can identify errors and maintain app reliability.
- Other Courtira users can see community and tournament information that you create or share within the relevant community, subject to the app's access controls.
- Google provides optional Google sign-in when you choose to use it.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our rights, or protect Courtira, its users, or others.
Storage, retention, and security
When a paid subscription changes to Free, the previous paid features remain available for 7 days. Communities owned by that account then become read-only for 90 days, during which their data can be viewed and exported. They are subsequently archived and hidden from normal Community views. Retained Community data is permanently deleted 12 months after the effective downgrade unless the owner returns to a suitable paid plan before deletion. Activity on the Free plan does not reset these dates. This policy does not automatically delete accounts, profiles, personal tournaments, or memberships in other owners' Communities. You can request deletion of your own account.
Before deleting your account, you must delete every Community you own or transfer ownership to another member who accepts the transfer. Account deletion removes your profile, personal tournaments, account preferences, and personal media, and cancels Courtira subscriptions billed through Stripe. Apple and Google Play subscriptions must be managed separately in your store account; deleting Courtira does not cancel store billing. Your announcements, uploaded profile photo, and username are removed. Shared tournament records retain your Player Name, country, About text, results, and trophies as read-only history, with initials and a red D beside your name marking a deleted account. Shared Community, tournament, and sponsor images remain while in use. If billing cancellation or cleanup fails, the deletion request is retained and retried.
Information is stored through Courtira's service providers and retained for as long as needed to operate your account, provide the services, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Billing and subscription records may be retained after account deletion when needed for tax, accounting, legal, dispute-resolution, security, or fraud-prevention purposes. We use access controls designed to limit access to authorized users, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- You can update profile information and notification preferences in the app.
- You can disable notifications in the app or your device settings.
- You can choose not to provide optional profile, image, location, or feedback information.
- To request access to or correction of your account information, use the app's Contact & feedback feature while signed in. To request account and associated data deletion without reinstalling the app, follow the steps on our account deletion page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Courtira evolves. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date above.
