How the estimate works
Each entrant meets every other entrant once: n × (n − 1) ÷ 2 matches in total. Even fields have n − 1 rounds; odd fields have n rounds with one bye per round. The calculator splits each round into court-sized waves, using your match length and a gap between waves. It is deliberately round-based, rather than an optimized continuous schedule.
For eight teams on four courts at 20 minutes a match with five-minute gaps, seven waves take 170 minutes. With no gaps, the same plan takes 140 minutes. Actual matches may run longer.
